You make me SMILE - Dusty Attic - January Mood Board 2023

Hello Dusty FANattics and welcome to the very first Mood Board challenge for the year!

Hope you had a magnificent Christmas/Holiday season and are looking forward to an amazing creative year ahead starting with your chance to win one of two $50 (AUD) credits to the Dusty Attic Online Store.

"You make me SMILE"

I chose this gorgeous paper that had all of the colourings from the new board and this photo of my beautiful grand daughter when she was littler.

First I cut a rectangle from the middle of the green backing paper to use a photo mat as well as an apricot piece that matches the paper.

Then cut the main patterned paper down to 11.5 x 11.5 to have a border around the edges which I have distressed and inked.

The Dress form and some of the Botanical mix I have sprayed white. The remaining Botanical mixes and Foliage clusters have been painted green with a darker green sponged on small portions to add depth.

The Flowers (#2) have been lightly painted with a pale peach colour then I have added some deeper orange in the centres and sponged edges.

The title has been painted with a pale peach colour then white sponged over the top.

It is super easy to enter the challenge, just add your take of the board into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics Facebook Page

Happy - Dusty Attic October Mood Board

Hello everyone, today I am sharing my take on the Dusty Attic Moodboard challenge for the month of October. I couldn't go past this gorgeous photo of my beautiful grand daughter who even has daisies on her little jumper that match the board perfectly.

I have used Maja Designs papers and started with monochrome Sienna, cutting a portion from the middle of the paper to use for the circle and using the darker shade as my background border.
I have then trimmed the patterned "Don't worry" paper to 11.5 x 11.5 and machine sewn around the edges.

Next I have gathered some 49 and Market ephemera pieces like the doily, view finder, tags and frame from the Vintage Artistry Coral collection and added them underneath the circle composition which I have used foam tape under to give depth.

Next I started with my chipboard, painting the "happy" title, heraldry motif, large and small daisies all white. When dry I added the yellow middle to the daisies and Wink of Stella glitter to the title.

The botanic runner and botanic mix I have painted with green then sponged a darker green onto the edges/circles.

I have then adhered my photo down using foam tape behind that also. Adding the chipboard motif to the bottom and botanic runner to the top with a cute daisy in the middle.

Using Salmon flowers I have constructed a floral cluster element on the right hand side weaving botanical mix and daisies throughout.

To finish off my page I have added some epoxy love hearts and butterfly bauble.

It's all about ME - Dusty Attic

How amazing is the DUSTY ATTIC NEW RELEASE  ?

I have created this layout of my gorgeous little grand daughter on her 2nd birthday.

I started by colouring all of my chipboard, the "it's all about ME" title, Botanic runner and number 2 in blue that matches her little top.

The gorgeous little songbirds have been coloured using Kaiser pens after painting them white.

The bottoms of the butterflies are painted in pink with the overlay left white. Bend the wings up before adhering to make it look like they are 3D.

I have added "Wink of Stella glitter pen" to the "ME" of the title and the number 2 which I have added to one of the Botanic Buttons.

The amazing dandelions are painted by first colouring them all white then using a paint brush to add the green to all of the stems.

I love the little details of the Botanic mixes and the word strips give to a page.

When I had finished I thought it needed just one more thing so I added some stencilling with the Flower Power stencil. See the video below
