Discover.....

Hiya everyone
Today I am sharing my take on the November Mood Board for Dusty Attic
I was inspired by the colours in the board - especially the Blues and yellowish orange

You can win a $100 Gift Voucher to the

All you have to do is add your link to your blog on the right hand side bar.

I started with the background and added the Splat stencil with the texture paste mixed with DA Paint Sunshine yellow with a touch of  Sunburnt orange

Sunburnt Orange DA0906

Texture Paste  DA1218
Stencils - Splat - DA1329

Then I used the Denim paint with the texture paste
(as the paste is white it makes the paint colour you use lighter) with the arrows stencil.
Then I dropped blotches of white gesso here and there

Denim DA0914

I used any left over texture paste and mixed it together to create the Green colour that I have used behind the Hot Air Balloon background
(and dry brushed a little gesso over it to show the texture)

The Blueprint Discover word and the Blueprint rocket where both painted and then I added some silver glitter over the top of portions of it to stand out, I also used a different colour paper behind the rocket.

Having the Orange straws behind the word makes it "pop", I also used micro beads to add extra texture to the background as well.

Seize the Day - Bo Bunny

I have used Bo Bunny Star Crossed papers which I fell in love with the second I saw them !! The colours, the feathers, the embellishment pack - Love Love Love and all so perfect for this photo shoot that we did in the "fairy mines" as Ky and Cadence call them
(Its actually a pine plantation with a footpath around it), I wish you could see this in "real life" as it is very very layered and quite high!

Black Soot DA 0925
I started with the diamond stencil background using  black crackle paint, then I have painted a lot of the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces with the Black Soot paint as well.

The hexagons I have used I have "popped" out of the Honeycomb Large and small panel pieces and covered them with the Bo Bunny papers
(small DA0740 Large DA0738)

Honeycomb DA0740 and DA0738

I have added red twine around the love heart arrows and around the focal circle made of the gold wire around the photograph, I made my own circle to use as a dream catcher type symbol with white embroidery thread and then wrapped fine gold thread across it, the tiny pegs I have painted gold along with the little diamonds you see there on the Mini Balloons (they are popped out of the trellis piece of chippy)

Mini Trellis DA 1033

I love the view finders and have used both the large and mini size on this layout with Navaho white paint then used crackle gloss and rubbed it over the Dusty Attic Gold paint. The small view finder I just coloured with brown ink and then rubbed it back to make it rustic.

Mini View Finders DA1080 - Large View Finders DA 1081

The feathers that came in the ephemera pack I have dipped with gold glitter and bent them around to add dimension to them. The chipboard feathers I have left raw and but rubbed some gold paint over the top to match.

How gorgeous are the embellishments that match the papers? I love these stamps and they fit the Dusty Attic chippy perfectly

Arrow Border #1 DA1198

I have added arrows to the skewers at the top and wrapped with the same gold thread, the Mini Alphabet letters fit perfect on the card

I had so much fun making this layout and I love it to bits (One of My favorites by far)

Thanks for popping in today

Love You - Hot hair balloons

I just have to start by saying
" I LOVE HOT AIR BALLOONS "
They are fun and magical and can take you on a mystical journey
SO - when  Dusty Attic released  Hot air
balloons I wasted no time in using them !

I started by using Tim Holtz stencils and inking
 some of the background
(using different shades of ink and going lighter in some areas and darker in others give it more dimension)
The Hot air balloons in the background are cut from
Kaisers acetate sheet with coloured paper behind so
the balloons have different looks.
Then I set to and decorated the chippy Balloons
I have curved the edges and put some paper through
the cuttle bug before attaching it to the pieces.
(don't be afraid to manipulate your chip board pieces to
give them more depth and dimension)

I have just used a Blue chalk ink to colour
some of the chippy and Distress inks that I used
with the stencils to colour the brown chippy

Now these dots....
You would look at them in the chip sheet and
wonder what where Dusty thinking bringing out
"DOTS" ...

 Dots Mini  DA1048

Lots of Dots  DA1059

Well, this is why, because they look great
Either covered in paper, painted or inked
and especially with
Dusty Attic gloss over the top

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and
all of the Dusty Attic chipboard I have used
you can purchase straight from the DA site now

See you soon
