Happy - Dusty Attic October Mood Board

Hello everyone, today I am sharing my take on the Dusty Attic Moodboard challenge for the month of October. I couldn't go past this gorgeous photo of my beautiful grand daughter who even has daisies on her little jumper that match the board perfectly.

I have used Maja Designs papers and started with monochrome Sienna, cutting a portion from the middle of the paper to use for the circle and using the darker shade as my background border.
I have then trimmed the patterned "Don't worry" paper to 11.5 x 11.5 and machine sewn around the edges.

Next I have gathered some 49 and Market ephemera pieces like the doily, view finder, tags and frame from the Vintage Artistry Coral collection and added them underneath the circle composition which I have used foam tape under to give depth.

Next I started with my chipboard, painting the "happy" title, heraldry motif, large and small daisies all white. When dry I added the yellow middle to the daisies and Wink of Stella glitter to the title.

The botanic runner and botanic mix I have painted with green then sponged a darker green onto the edges/circles.

I have then adhered my photo down using foam tape behind that also. Adding the chipboard motif to the bottom and botanic runner to the top with a cute daisy in the middle.

Using Salmon flowers I have constructed a floral cluster element on the right hand side weaving botanical mix and daisies throughout.

To finish off my page I have added some epoxy love hearts and butterfly bauble.

1st Birthday - Dusty Attic July Mood Board Inspiration

\\
Hello Dusty FANattics and welcome to July mood board challenge, this is such a beautiful pretty board.
You could win one of two AUD $50 credits to the
DUSTY ATTIC ONLINE STORE

This layout is of my beautiful little grand daughter on her FIRST Birthday. Her headband and tutu have the colours of the Mood Board in them so was perfect for this challenge.

I wanted to create a magical little scene as she looks like a little fairy herself. So I started with the new large Gnome, butterflie and Songbirds.

I have spray painted all of my chipboard pieces with white matt paint and let dry.

Then  I have used watercolour paints to colour all of the pieces, when you have painted over the top you can use a damp brush to then lift paint off, like the white sections on the toadstools, wings on the songbirds and parts of the large gnome.

The 1st Birthday title I have left white and adhered it to the photo and added one of the songbirds at the top. The wings can be adhered straight or on an angle like I have to look like it is in use.

After making a cluster with the toadstools I have added botanical mix pieces, the cute little one that looks like love hearts is a fav of mine together with pink and mint flowers.

I have coloured the large gnome also with watercolours, at first I had used too much and he was quite bright. Just use a baby wipe to take the colour off you don't want then I added some white gesso to his hat to add some texture. The finishing touch was adding words from the word strip #2 pack.

Grand Canyon - Dusty Attic April mood board inspiration

Hello Dusty FANattics, today I have created this layout using a photograph taken when I was so super lucky to visit the Grand Canyon, what an out of this world experience this is.
To be totally honest I wasn't sure I would enjoy going, then we booked a helicopter ride to take us through the canyon to say I was excited was an understatement.
However it SNOWED which I was so in awe of, as a 51 year old seeing snow for the first time!!
(Just a reminder I live in Perth, Australia with 40 degree summers)
But it meant obviously the helicopter ride was off but once standing looking out into this breath taking view you can't help but be swept away with the beauty of nature.  April's mood board was perfect for this memory to be scrapbooked.

I started with painting all of the pieces with a cream chalk paint then added other colours over the top of the cream.

These suitcases are so awesome with their little added corners, locks and handles.

To create the title I have used the Tall and Lean ABC singles and spelt out the Grand Canyon and added the brackets. Once painted with the kakh brown colour I have sponged the apricot/pink colour at the top to achieve the two toned effect.

The Travel corners have been inked over the cream then added the same colours of beige, brown, gold, apricot and pink paints

To finish off the borders created along the bottom I have added the mini compasses with white paint dabbed over the top.

I hope this has inspired you to enter the challenge for a chance to win a AUD $50 credit to the Dusty Attic online store which has an amazing NEW EASTER range available

My Happy Place - Dusty Attic February Mood Board

 Hello Dusty FANattics

Jen here today with a layout as inspiration for you to join in the Dusty Attic Mood Board monthly challenge where you could win one of two $50 AUD Credits to the DUSTY ATTIC ONLINE STORE

This is the gorgeous board with it's cool and calming greens and creams.

"My Happy Place"

Just before Christmas one of my most amazingly beautiful friends whom I love dearly came and helped me make my very own "ZEN" place to sit and just be present in the moment.
I find just sitting out here with my plants, statues and a coffee is so relaxing and recharging, so of course I had to take photos and scrapbook a page. Dusty Attic garden gnomes, foliage and garden chippy is perfect.

I started with colouring the Garden Tool #2 set with different shades of green, brown, metallic grey and rust.

Next I have used an array of different greens to use on the Succulents Mixed chippy with highlights of white, yellow and magenta.

The garden gnomes, title and (ZEN) from the Impact ABC set I have spray painted white then distressed the title a little bit.
Did you know that the Impact letters are also sold separately ? Which comes in handy if you need extra vowels or common letters in names like "R" "S" etc.

After that I have used Tri Blend (Spectum noir) pens in Dull Green and Ice Blue Blends to colour the cute little garden Gnomes.

My papers, flowers and laser cut pieces are from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Naturalist collection and I have used this mixed inbetween my chipboard pieces.

To finish off my page I have added some rub ons to the ZEN word and popped it into some brackets

Thanks for joining me today and I would love to see your very own creations on the
Dusty FANattics page maybe with your ZEN place.
