Mermaids this Way - 49 and Market Color Swatch Teal

Hello everyone, today I am sharing photos of my Amazing little princess Grandaughter on her Fourth birthday in January. We went to AQWA the underground aquarium in Perth to celebrate and see the Mermaids. WOW, she absolutely loved them.

I started with the Paper #2 from the 12x12 Collection pack and cut a rectangle from the middle of the paper to use as photo mats, cut the barcode strip off and distressed the edges.

I have then used the reverse of the Collection pack cover sheet with the butterflies and using a craft knife cut around some of the wings to lift up like they are flying. Then cut the paper down to 11.25 x 11.25 after cutting the barcode strip off of course and distressed the edges. When I adhered it to the dark teal background paper I added glue around the edges of the cut pieces to stop them from lifting while still being able to see the colour underneath.

I have then used Filmstrip and stitched frames in the background and layered Teal ephemera stackers pieces along with tags, tickets and Moonlit garden ephemera.

Teal mini laser cuts, Moonlit Garden laser cuts and chipboard bits are then layered and arranged in clusters. "Best of Times" was made from Moonlit Garden chipboard bits with teal paper in the background of the frame then epoxy dots added.

Moonlit Garden Sentiments rub on "Good Life" was added on the bottom of the page then Teal rub ons added around the edges with paint splatters and grid patterns.  The acetate leaves and butterflies where really see through and the colour was lost so I painted white paint on the reverse of the pieces and tucked them in under the photos.

Hope you have enjoyed my layout today, remember you can add your own projects on the 49 and Market Fans page on Facebook.

Simply Perfect- Dusty Attic mood board challenge

Hello everyone, today I am sharing my take on the Dusty Attic Mood Board challenge for August, it is super sweet pinks and browns.

This photo of my gorgeous little grand daughter was taken at a park where she kept bobbing her head down and saying "Peek-A-Boo".  This is just one of the many things that photographs do, evoke memories attached to them.

I started by spray painting all of my chipboard except the frame and title white. While it was drying I have covered the Distress Frame with the patterned paper and machine stitched around the edges of the pink background.

I have painted an ombre effect onto the Simply Perfect title with browns and pinks, and the pink of the little frames. I have added black card behind the mini hearts to make them "pop" and some of the patterned paper inside.

The Cherry Blossom tree and the cute little Songbird have been painted using the same brown for the branches and pink for the blossoms adding white, dark pink and light brown dots.

The flowers, leaves and bird are fussy cut from the Forest tea party paper. The chippy toadstools layered in between where a must along with the awesome dandelions, you can't see them and not want to make a wish.

The Forrest Friends Llamas are simply just too super gorgeous together with the cute little Forrest Friends Reindeer.  I have left them mainly white and just coloured their wool and scarves with fine tipped markers.

Blessed - Dusty Attic - June Mood Board inspiration

Hello Dusty FANattics

Today I have a layout of my gorgeous little grand daughter taken last year at the park across the road, just sitting playing with the leaves quite happily.

Although I started off with the Dusty Attic June mood board my layout took me into a different direction as I added greens, blues and yellows to my page below.

I started off by slicing the large Park tree in half and using this on the left hand side of my page (and now I have another half for another layout)  I have painted the Tree with brown on the  trunk and branches and then the grass and leaves section with green, when it was completely dry  inked some brown ink over the top to add texture, I have painted the Autumn leaves the same way.

Using the 49 and Market Curators Botanical range allowed me to connect the tree over to the photograph using the fence rub on then follow the layout upwards to add the Heart strings heart and large butterfly to the top of the page.

The word "Blessed" is from Word pack #45 and is perfect for the way I feel about both of my grandchildren. I have sponged this with the same green as the tree but added a yellow ink over the top to add highlights.

To finish off my page I have added a mini heart button in white and three cute little mini butterflies in yellow,

Remember you can purchase any of the Dusty Attic chipboard from the online store
