The Good Life - Dusty Attic May mood board inspiration

Hello Dusty FANattics, today I am here to share the MAY MOOD BOARD challenge with you and my interpretation.

Look at all of those amazing hues of blues !

THE GOOD LIFE

This is a selfie "snapshot" of Kyden and I when we went to Hillary's Boat Harbour for a SURPRISE joint 60th birthday party for Nana and Pappy. It was a great evening, nice food and shuttleboard to play, and needless to say they where very surprised that we where all there to help them celebrate.

I have started with the gorgeous Marrakesh stencil and some blue ink to add some pattern into the background.

I have then painted my Lacey Frame (large) in white spray paint and left to dry whilst painting my other chippy pieces.

The stunning Lacey Flowers I have painting in one blue hue then added darker paint around the outside in an ombre effect. I have then added twine with knots in it as the centre stamens.

Both the mini title "The Good Life" and "Snapshot" are  painted with the same blue paints as the flowers. To finish off my flower composition I have added a little "happy notes" wordplay strip.

Boys will be Boyz - Dusty Attic March Mood Board

Hello everyone and welcome to March !

Today I am here to reveal my layout for the Dusty Attic Mood Board, here is the gorgeous monochromatic challenge of Black, grey and white.

BOYS WILL BE BOYZ

A little while back I went 4 wheel driving with my oldest son and the Grandbabies.
Mason (at 3 yr old) actually steers and drives up and down the sand dunes and on the beach.
It really is a case of   "Boys will be Boyz" in their household. He loves anything to do with cars, planes, trains, pushbikes, diggers and dirt bikes with dirty wheels.

I started with using the Tracks stencil and added some tyre tracks around the outsides of the page.

The Title I have just left as black and white over the photograph to stand out, same as the black stars and parts of the pulleys.

The remaining of the chipboard I have used the black paint and added white to it in different increments to form different shades of grey

After layering the cogs I have added some metal hexagon nuts.

The keys I have coloured the same way and then hung them from a metal clip.

Unconditional Love (16/05/2020)

Hello Dusty FANattics
I was lucky enough to get the Mother's Day Chipboard and stencil release straight away, I would like to share this very special layout of my Mum and I. This was the first Mothers Day after my brother died and was such a hard day for everyone, however my Mum is amazing and tried to make this day about all of us, all my boys where there and of course Dad ( he was the BBQ cook) and we had a nice day together as a family.
"Unconditional Love"  can describe all Mother and child relationships, although it is not all one sided I adore my Mum as I am sure you all adore yours.

The NEW Mothers Day collection can all be found HERE

I have used the stencil just in the top right hand corner with an ink pad.

Circle Dot Stencil

I have entwined 49 and Market blooms wrapped around the flower Posies and then added the new Foliage leaves

The heart banner I used in the corner can have the mini hearts popped out of them or left in as I have. I have then used one of the new Rose Stems again with the foliage leaves.

The two smaller pieces of the lacey trim fit perfectly at the top and bottom of the laser cut polariod frame.

There is also the spelling MOM as well as MUM on the website.

Banners #5

The last piece I used was the Unconditional LOVE title.

The papers, washi tapes, collection pack and flowers are all from
49 and Market Vintage Artistry SKY range.

I hope you all had a marvellous Mothers Day, if not in person at least on the phone.

Discover.....

Hiya everyone
Today I am sharing my take on the November Mood Board for Dusty Attic
I was inspired by the colours in the board - especially the Blues and yellowish orange

You can win a $100 Gift Voucher to the

All you have to do is add your link to your blog on the right hand side bar.

I started with the background and added the Splat stencil with the texture paste mixed with DA Paint Sunshine yellow with a touch of  Sunburnt orange

Sunshine DA0905

Sunburnt Orange DA0906

Texture Paste  DA1218
Stencils - Splat - DA1329

Then I used the Denim paint with the texture paste
(as the paste is white it makes the paint colour you use lighter) with the arrows stencil.
Then I dropped blotches of white gesso here and there

Denim DA0914

I used any left over texture paste and mixed it together to create the Green colour that I have used behind the Hot Air Balloon background
(and dry brushed a little gesso over it to show the texture)

The Blueprint Discover word and the Blueprint rocket where both painted and then I added some silver glitter over the top of portions of it to stand out, I also used a different colour paper behind the rocket.

Having the Orange straws behind the word makes it "pop", I also used micro beads to add extra texture to the background as well.
