Rainbow Cake - 49 and Market Cottage Core

Hello and welcome to the blog, today I have this super cute layout of my gorgeous Grand son that for his fourth birthday wanted a "Rainbow Cake" made of lots of colours. What better way to scrapbook this memory than with the NEW Cottage Core collection from Dennis Bruton !

I have started with the 12x12 Memories Paper and instead of cutting the barcode strip off I have left it on as I liked the the saying along the bottom and trimmed the top of the page off to make it 12x12 instead.

I had lots of photos from making the cake which I wanted to include in my layout, but they were of course very bright and colourful being all rainbow colours. So that I could include my photos but have just the one photo on the front I have used the 49 and Market 6x4 Insta Flip Pocket sleeves.

When I have layered the sleeves on top of each other I have used some of the packaging and a paper punch to make a notebook edge then added the "memories to treasure and keep" quote from the die cut pack.

TIP - When you put this into your album just cut around the top of the sleeve so you can still flip the photos over.

I have used the Kitchen Edition of Laser cuts mixed with the Cottage Core Laser cuts and Die cuts layered and adding some garden elements in the background of the window. Rub ons have been placed around with the layout with coffee stains and my favourite saying
"We didn't realize we were making memories, We just knew we were having fun"

Instead of writing out the recipe for the cake I have used one of the recipe cards as a journaling spot at the end of all the photo flips.

The title of the layout of course had to be "Rainbow Cake" which I have used the Alphabet Rub Ons  called Swooshy. I have then added a little bit of washi tape on the edges and then some of the Epoxy wishing bubbles and bauble stars.

Hope you have enjoyed my layout today and I have inspired you to create your own, even giving the photo flips a try as well.

Precious - 49 and Market Birdsong

Hello and welcome to my layout on the blog today which is a bittersweet tribute to a cherished bond. A photograph that captures a beaming Sister arm-in-arm with my proud brother at my wedding 20 years ago. I miss him everyday and photos of him, us, family are ever so precious and a reminder of love's enduring power.

The Birdsong collection had the amazing colours and hues to use with this photo.
I have started with the "Songs of Hope" 12x12 paper and used the 6x8 papers to make a double photo mat.

Adding lots of layers with the Ephemera pieces with the tickets, files, large printed sheets and tags.

I then moved onto the Blendable rub on transfers and added the Coral colour into the page background.
Laser cut Essentials and Wildflowers have both been used to create different clusters.

Essential Rub on transfers have been added like the Dark blue butterfly and music notes around the corner.

Final touches to my page is the Chipboard mix word "Precious" and then some white splatters to add highlights around the layout.

Thank you for joining me today, remember to take those photos AND be in them yourself as well!

You are my Song - 49 and Market Birdsong

Hello everyone, today I am sharing a layout of my sweet grand daughter who had her face painted "Mermaid" at a Gala day we went to. She absolutely loved it and the New Birdsong range is perfect to use for this project.

I started with the Essentials White Carstock and added the Birdsong Concerto 12x12 paper by tearing it at around 5.5 inches and added that to the bottom. Then another small 1.5" strip which I flipped over to the butterfly side and added it to the top of the page.
To connect the pieces I have added the Stitching essentials rub on transfers.

I have then used a 6x8 piece of Birdsong paper as a photo mat to make the picture pop and added some of the Laser cut pieces like the frames and lace.

Using the amazing Essentials and Wildflower laser cuts and Ephemera pieces I have added layers and layers tucked into the paper along the bottom.

Finishing off my page I have added a Rub on as a title "You are my Song" and some laser cut butterflies flying up off the page.
TIP - sculpt your wings and add some foam tape underneath to look like they are 3D

Charming, Handsome and Mischievous - 49 and Market Rust and Revs

Charming, Handsome and Mischievous, this describes both my Nephew and Grandson to a T ! Especially the mischievous part when they are together. I took these photos on the way back from a Dirtbike show we went to for Mason's birthday called the "Freestyle Kings".
They both has a great time and loved the show.

The colours in the photo are just perfect for the Rust and Revs collection. I have started with the "Freedom" paper in the background as a frame and then trimmed 1/2 inch from the top of the "Discovery" paper. Instead of cutting some off of the side of the paper I have scored it and pleated the paper on the right hand side.

I then used Frames from the Die cut set and put pieces of the patterned paper behind the windows to look like the inside of a workshop behind the first photograph then added some wood panel and cactus on the side of the second photo.

The Laser cut elements have been layered with tyres, cogs and an old fashioned radiogram.
The words Charming, Handsome and Mischievous are also from the Die cut pack. I have cut the white section from around the outside of the word then coloured in the white space with a pen to blend into the layout more.

Washi tape pieces have been added underneath all of the gorgeous old cars which have been added with foam tape behind them to pop in some cactus pieces.  The compass rose has been added to the top right corner with chain and arrow laser cuts.
Finishing off the page are the epoxy wishing bubbles and baubles added to the frames and different parts of the layout.

Love This - 49 and Market Vintage Orchard

I have had this gorgeous photo of my oldest son for so long, just sitting unscrapped until the Vintage Orchard range hit my craft desk.

I started with the 12x12 Solids pack and cut a circle out of the middle of the page.
Then added the 12x12 Pear Tree patterned paper which I have trimmed to 11.5 x 11.5 to make a border around the edges. I cut the circle in half and added a semi circle on each side of the photo stack.

I have used acetate pieces, like the filmstrips and frames. The cutest little saying " Sweetest Apple in the Orchard " is also an acetate piece that I have added some white cardstock behind so you can see the pieces better.

I have done the same with this buck wheat signage but added the yellow behind the acetate piece then added a frame from the Stacked Frame set. Using the Elements and Wildflower laser cuts I have added leaves and images.

I have then added pieces from the Ephemera stacks and laser cuts layering tickets, lace and more.

The checkered patterned paper makes is easy to add some hand sewn cross stitches to the layout.
To finish off my page I have added chipboard words plus wishing bubbles & bauble epoxy stickers.
